Jack Cipriani
VICE PRESIDENT, EASTERN REGION

“We must harness the power of a united Teamsters union to win strong contracts for our members and their families.”

Jack Cipriani joins the General Executive Board after compiling a record of saving Teamsters jobs, organizing new members, pioneering labor-management cooperation, and building a strong Local 391 in Greensboro, North Carolina. As an International Vice President and Director of the Brewery and Soft Drink Conference, he is focusing on building Teamsters clout in organizing and political action.

  • Director, Teamsters Brewery and Soft Drink Conference.
  • President, Local 391, representing 8,000 members in Greensboro, N.C. from 1995 to present.
  • Increased the organizing budget by 700 percent and launched aggressive organizing campaigns.
  • Built a $2.7 million strike fund.
  • Saved 200 Teamsters jobs by showing management it could profit by training workers to do skilled labor and persuading the governor to pay for the training.


Richard "Ken" Hall
VICE PRESIDENT, EASTERN REGION

A second-generation Teamster since 1976, and known for his hard work, dedication and superior negotiation skills, Ken Hall has gained the respect of members and officers throughout the union. In 2002, Hall stepped into the difficult national negotiations with UPS, and led the negotiating team to the best contract the Teamsters Union has ever enjoyed for more than 200,000 members.

  • Co-Chair, Teamsters UPS National Negotiating Committee in 1997 and 2002.
  • Teamsters UPS National Negotiating Committee Member and Atlantic Area National Contract Supplement Chair in 1993.
  • President and Principal Officer of Local 175 since 1991, representing more than 3,300 members in Charleston, West Virginia.
  • Recording Secretary for the Kentucky-West Virginia Conference of Teamsters
  • Trustee, Teamster-UPS National 401(k) Plan

John Murphy
VICE PRESIDENT, EASTERN REGION

“We are putting the Teamsters on a path to sustained growth. Organizing is critically important to all Teamsters because adding more members means more strength and better contracts.”

As Eastern Region Vice President, John Murphy is spearheading the union’s campaign to give Teamsters more clout at the bargaining table by empowering the unorganized through union membership. He is also committed to the Hoffa reform program to ensure a clean union.

Richard Volpe
VICE PRESIDENT, EASTERN REGION

“I will always work hard to encourage Teamsters members to be activists in their union. With active members and committed leaders working together, we can put the Teamsters back on the path of growth and greater power.”

Richard Volpe joins the General Executive Board leading the Teamsters’ 80,000-member Bakery Conference of the USA and Canada. A New York native, he is committed to negotiating strong contracts, focusing on the needs of members and their families, and empowering members to become more active in union affairs.

  • Vice-Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer, Teamsters’ Bakery Conference of the USA and Canada, 1999 - present
  • Secretary-Treasurer, Local 550, representing 1,000 members in New York City, 1976 - 1999. Served as Shop Steward, 1967 - 1975.
  • Chief negotiator for all bakery contracts in the New York City area.
